A clear, repeatable process from first conversation to ongoing growth
Every engagement follows the same seven stages — scoped to fit a quick migration or a multi-month custom build.
How an engagement runs
- 1Discover
- 2Plan
- 3Design
- 4Build
- 5Test
- 6Launch
- 7Grow
We start by understanding your business, your customers, and what's not working with your current setup. This usually means a working session with your team, a look at your existing data and site, and a clear list of constraints — budget, timeline, and anything that can't change.
We turn discovery into a concrete scope: what's being built, in what order, and what success looks like. For larger engagements this includes a project plan with milestones; for smaller ones, a simple shared doc is often enough.
We design around the user journeys that matter most to your business, not a generic template. You'll see wireframes or mockups at key decision points, not just a single reveal at the end — we'd rather catch misalignment early.
Development happens in regular, visible increments rather than a black box. You can expect a working environment to check in on throughout the build, not just a final handoff.
Before anything goes live, we test across devices, browsers, and the specific edge cases that matter for your store — real checkout flows, real order volume scenarios, not just a visual pass.
We plan launches around your business, not ours — scheduling around traffic patterns, sales events, and anything else that makes a launch window higher or lower risk.
A launch isn't the end of the relationship. Many engagements move into ongoing support or iteration afterward, so there's a clear path forward for fixes, optimization, and new functionality as your business changes.
What to expect
Most engagements run on a weekly check-in, with async updates in between through whatever channel works best for your team — email, Slack, or a shared project board. You'll always know what's in progress and what's coming next.
We build in review points at the end of each stage rather than one big reveal at the end, so feedback gets folded in while it's still cheap to change course, not after something's already built on top of it.
Scope and timeline sometimes shift as a project develops — that's normal for custom work. When it happens, we revisit it together rather than silently absorbing or ignoring the change.
